Our Shepherd's Hut Arrives! - 12th March 2012
Our 2012 Plankbridge Shepherd's Hut is being built this winter and will have a double bed, table and chairs, underfloor heating, fridge and stove inside. Outside, an awning and camping kitchen. Extra people can be accommodated in tents alongside. The hut will offer warm dry camping above ground level in a classic pastoral setting. Our Facebook pages will provide information on the building and finishing of this special hut.
South West Caravan & Motorhome Show, Exeter: 17th - 18th March 2012
See all the latest designs and types of caravans and motorhomes and talk to your local dealers. You will see masses of accessories together with all that is new in gadgets and gizmos. If new is not for you, come and see loads of pre-loved caravans and motorhomes. Opening Times: 9.30am - 4.30pm. Prices: Adults £7.00, Seniors £6.00, Kids FREE.
Plymouth Life Centre Opens: 23rd - 25th March 2012
Due to open over the weekend 23rd-25th March 2012, the Plymouth Life Centre will be one of the country's leading centres of sporting excellence. The £46.5 million project sees Plymouth's biggest ever investment in leisure facilities and underlines the City Council's commitment to getting more people into sport and improving the overall health and fitness of local residents - visitors can use it to!
Point to Point Racing, Lamerton, Nr Tavistock: Sunday 25th March 2012
Usually a really good outing for those who enjoy the outdoors, point to point racing, side-shows and rolling Devon countryside with distant views of Dartmoor. The course is about 3 miles from Harford Bridge Park; plenty of parking, local food & drink stands etc.
Barbican International Jazz and Blues Festival: 29th April - 2nd May 2012
The 2012 International Blues & Jazz Festival will have more planned events with more music and more stallholders than previous years as the Festival continues to expand across the Barbican. If you love Blues & Jazz be prepared to visit the Barbican, Plymouth.
Warhorse location walks by Moorland Guides
Dartmoor locations used in the film are on our doorstep and include the small villages of Meavy and Sheepstor, Burrator Reservoir, and Bonehill Rocks near Widecombe-in-the-Moor. Ditsworthy Warren House, near Sheepstor on Dartmoor. Guided walks are available from Burrator and include the remote Warren House at Ditsworthy where filming took place, and we will also visit some of Dartmoor's most enigmatic Bronze Age antiquities.
Fishing starts on the River Tavy: 1st March
Webcam shows the water at Abbey Bridge, Tavistock. Fly fishing for Salmon & Sea Trout on our waters is available by permit for those staying at Harford Bridge Park; EA Permit also required. Nearby trout fishing is available at Tavistock Trout Farm and trout, carp and coarse fishing at Milemead Fisheries (1 and 4 miles respectively from Harford Bridge Park).
